I'm quite keen to play around with watching High Definition media files on my Xbox 360 so I can watch some decent quality TV on my new HDTV. I've seen there are quite a few newsgroups now carrying HD TV episodes etc. and wondered if it is possible to either copy them onto a DVD and play the video files as a mixed media disc on the 360, or to convert them into a suitable format the 360 can recognise and then do the same.
My 360 isn't currently connected to my PC as a media extender, so playing the files from a DVD would be a better solution if possible.

Anyone had a go at doing this?

    Thanks

I'd say get the files and recode them with Nero Recode and burn the DVD. Whatever ratio the file was ripped at will be what it's played on the 360. Or you could just convert it to .wmv and save yourself a DVD-R
