playing ps2 games on computer

    is there a way of ripping a ps2 games on to the hd on your computer and playing it off of your computer? if so how is it done and what software do i need to do it?

    there are a couple of emulators,
    but none that work fully or even well enough for
    me to recommend.

    i just downloaded pcsx2 for an emulator. so it can be done, playing ps2 games copyed on to your com hd? how do you do it?

    do i need Alcohol 120 to make a iso on my hd and can i just play that with the emulator? or do i need to copy the hole dvd on to my hd?

    Like Jizmak said, although there are some emulators out there, none of them are really good enough to play the games. However, using alcohol is probably your best bet, although you should check with the documentation of the emulator to see what format it's looking for.

    If you're trying to save yourself some money by bypassing buying a ps2, then unfortunately, you're going to be disappointed. Just don't spend too much time doing this, cause in the end, it'll be like playing an atari 2600.

    It has nothing to do with a computer not having enough power, its that the emulators are not efficient enough at running the games on a computer.

    i have a ps2, but my computer is alot more powerfull and its with me when im on the road

    There are no working PS2 emulators available for the PC. PCSX2 does not yet work.

    but if the guys ripping ps2 games to the hard drive and has a probably has a pps2 since he has the games then why
