I have a version 1 ps2 with fliptop and SMD 3.0 and i was wondering if there was a way to play backups of ps1 games using the smd 3.0 so far my attempts have not been successful, it either gives me the red border or it starts to flicker and takes me back to the browser giving me the option to choose either the memory card or the disk, and no matter what i do or how i try to boot it it wont work. Can anyone help me out here?

You need to buy breaker pro for ps2 backups you can buy it from ps2fliptop.com for less than 15 bucks

I use the NeoKey USB mod for my PS1 games. You have to solder 2 wires and thats it. Boots games without having to swap nothing.

I think just using a Gameshark will work fine with a Flip Top or Slide Card.
