Is that mad dog burner you got from CompUsa? If it is, I would look into buying another brand.

If you head on over to the DVDdecrypter forum:
    http://forum.dvddecrypter.com
You will find heaps of info on I/O errors, there seems to be numerous causes, so a search over there may be of some use.

You need to make sure your USB writer is hooked up to a USB 2 port.. Check in device manager under your USB controller's it should say "Enhanced USB" if not are you sure your USB ports are USB2? If so down load the drivers and install them..

Dersniper - I have the exact same problem, after having failed all attempts at finding a solution on afterdawn, tried tech support (failure), got a replacement drive (failure), and have gone through the whole spectrum of dvd-R media...if you however found a solution, I would love you to share it with me.
