my ms office and re-installed and did all the repair works with the
office installation cd but all to no avail.I'm using office 2003,
but haven't noticed such a problem before.

In fact ,i detected that the space bar has been replaced by ........,the tab with a right arrow sign and others,
I'm suspecting some viruses which i don't know of.

    Yep, yep,

I got the answer to the above problem through a
google such and the the symblos are gone.
    the solution is as ffs:---

It sounds as if you have your Paragraph symbol on. Look up in the toolbar next to the Page Zoom window (the space where you can see the document at full page, 100%, 200% or whatever). To the left of that, there should be the paragraph symbol (looks like a funny-looking P). Click it and see if your document looks normal again.

The purpose of this key is to allow document authors to see exactly what formatting they're applying to a document. The symbols don't print out so that's why you don't see it when you look at the document in "Reading Layout" view.

    It's called the Show/Hide key, I think
