Please help with 4x firmware

    I have an HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4020B dvd 2x drive. I have 4x disc that i need firmware for. I downloaded the firmware (A109) but when i go to run the exe of screen pops up for a second then goes away and nothing else happends. is this it? is there something else i should do? if it is will i be able to use the 4x disc without any problem?

    I don't think firmware is for discs, it's for drives. If your firmware update is done correctly, you should see your activity light on your drive light up. Other than that, I don't know.

    If you followed the directions that came with the firmware update, or whatever direction you went by, then you drive should be updated. You can check the firmware of your drive with either dvdinfopro or DVD Decrypter.
