I have created a backup of athens 2004 on ps2 onto a dvd-r (the cheap ones) and the annoying red screen comes on when i try to play the game.

my ps2 has been chipped and i have copied the game using dvd decrypter.

does anyone have any suggestions to what is wrong.

What version PS2 do you have? Older PS2's won't take the cheaper media.

I had this problem too but mine turned out to be a badly installed modchip and cheap medias as soon as I fixed my modchip (which was installed by a pro!) and bought some better discs (Memorex and Verbatim instead of LeadDatas) everything worked perfectly.
    EDIT: I have a V4 PS2 with a Duo modchip.
