please just read this and help.

I have a NEC ND-2510A, and Ive been having a problem. I recently bought a pack of memorex and imation DVD-Rs they dont work, but Ive been buying these sorts of brands for a long time, Nero says illegal disc and DVD decrypter just fails. But I have some cheap generic brand of DVD-Rs (no name on them) and they work fine and so does my memorex DVD-RWs that ive had for more than a year. Ive updated firmware to the newest 2.19 off the NEC site. So Im stuck and please help.

 

just because the brand is the same does not mean the disks are the same. Memorex and Imation do not make their own disks, they buy them from whatever maker is cheapest. Stick with the disks that work.

How old is that drive?

 

its a few years old but why wont the bland dvd-r's work?

 

i meant blank dvd-r's sorry

 

perhaps because they are poor quality.

 

but these others i have are so cheap and generic they dont even have a name on them and they work fine. and i took the ones i bought over to a friends house and they work fine on his burner.
