Has anyone been using the Plextor PX-M402U to convert VHS tape`s to a DVD?
If so have you had any luck with converting directly to disk?
I can convert VHS movie`s directly to hard drive then burn them to a DVD with no problem. But can`t burn directly to a DVD disk.

I don`t know what you mean by a macro remover box.
The PX-M402U is a Digital Video Converter, you plug it in a 110 volt power supply, then connect it to a USB 2.0 port on your computer, then hook it to your VCR`s audio & video ports. Put your movie in the VCR and it`ll convert it directly to your hard drive or directly to a disk. Like i said i can put it to my hard drive then burn it to a disk with no problem (but it take`s about 5 hours that way),i`am haveing a problem going directly to disk,( which would only take how ever long the movie is). If you go to the Plextor web site you can find more info. on this.

Thanks. Can you back up original videos, not just a copy or home video?

And do you know if there is a fire wire version? I think that would be much faster.
