    I've heard that kazaa isn't the best any more, so I thought I'd start a thread about differant p2p aplications... peeps opinions about which is best for what and why and where to get them... since I started this, I'll go first:)

    eMule

    Where to get: http://emule-project.net

    tutorial: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/20686

    formats: everything under the sun!

    pro's: can be used with sharereactor, multi-source downloading, ed2k links compatible, no spyware/adware, when used with shrereactor and other such sites you will not get any fakes.

    con's: No slacking! You must share, if you limit your upload to less than 10kbs then multiply that number by 3 and thats your download limit! Manual Server Connection!

    Ok. Don't shoot me or anything because I am not posting a pole opinion, but rather questioning one. This is directed to Dela. Dela, say I live in a state where downloading movies and burning them are legal. What might one expect as far as quality on a stand-alone player from say sharereactor. Didn't be to throw the pole off course, just wondering. Thanks,

    Depends on the file you're getting! If its a DVD RIP then you an expect good quality if you convert it properly. Other types of files include TS (Telesync - Recorded from a cinema screen with audio from another source!) DVD SCR (Promotional DVD that has somehow been brought to the internet by release groups!). A TS could have any kind of quality to be honest a dvd screener would have dvd quality (or near it) but would have watermarks (copyright warnings). Basically thats all I'm going to say on the subject because the forum isnt intended for it!

    DC++

    Where to get: http://www.dcplusplus.com

    Formats: Everything

    Pro's: No slackkers because you need to have a minimum amount shared to connect to hubs just as in Direct Connect. It's fast and reliable and is much more user friendly than Direct Connect

    Con's: Sometimes you can loose the source you were downloading from if they disconnect so sometimes you need to wait till they are back on to resume but most of the time you can find an alternative source to resume the download!
