    Hi,

Im completely new to the scene but after what seemed to be a successful flash of my drive to play backups Im now unable to do so.

I CAN how ever still play originals (Tested with Fable 2 & 3, Halo ODST, Halo 3, Alan Wake).

I have an old fat 360 with a Toshiba Samsung Drive and I followed these instructions to flash the drive: biline.ca/360_mod.htm

Looking at those instructions they look HUGELY out of date, so any responses regarding that and the latest firmware for my drive would be helpful.

I obviously used the Firmware in this guide which I am guessing is out of date for the Dashboard version I have?

Also I am looking for a guide to burning backups correctly. I torrented "Batman Arkham Asylum" ran the ISO through ABGX360 and it made some changes to the .dvd file and also did an angle adjustment.

I then burnt the image using imgburn on 8x speed and left the Layer Break to "Calculate Optimal" as per some other instructions but when I try to play the backup it just appears as a DVD and playing the Game/DVD results in the Xbox loading logo with DVD controls.

    To recap:

    Drive Type: Toshiba-Samsung
    Dashboard Version: 2.0.13599.0
    Flashing Guide Used: biline.ca/360_mod.htm
    Firmware Used: eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=3234&ttitle=Xtreme_Firmware_TS-H943

Just in case anyone is wondering why I am torrenting games I recently had my flat broken into, the thieves were disturbed and in the bungled theft they damaged a lot of my DVDs and Games.
Because I didnt properly catalog the DVDs/Games the insurance wont pay out for them and I obviously want to play the things I have paid for.

As such any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be one of 2 things: -

    1. You either didn't flash the 360, you flashed it with stock firmware by mistake, or you flashed it, then updated the dashboard which flashed it back to stock. For a better guide on flashing 360s, Google for the JungleFlasher guide.

    2. You didn't burn your games correctly. To burn ISOs, run them through abgx360 which makes sure they're OK and also checks the .DVD file, but then you have to double-click the .DVD file to launch ImgBurn as that sets the correct layerbreak (you can leave the default setting to "calculate optimal"). Then burn your disc. Also, let the burn verify to make sure it's good.

If you selected the .ISO file in ImgBurn rather than the .DVD file, then I think that could be the problem as the layerbreak will be wrong, but it might be a flash issue. It still plays originals, so at least you didn't completely mess it up, haha.

    Hey,

    Thanks for the quick response.

I'm just about to flash the drive back to stock firmware then try JungleFlasher (found the guide about 2 mins ago)

Do I need to put the drive into Mode B to flash using JungleFlasher or is that long since obsolete?

The dashboard was already on 2.0.13599.0 previous to the flash so I'm assuming that it's not an update flashing back to stock.

As for the burning yea I did a bad job of explaining, I did exactly as you said. Ran the ISO through ABGX360 then used the .dvd file in imgburn.
