I wanted to buy a new PS2 and have it modded, so I figured that I would just get a premodded one and save the trouble.

I am completely noobish in this regard, so I was wondering a few things:

1.If I have a choice, which mod chip should I get it with?
2.Will I have to do any other work to the console after I get it?
3.Anything else I should be aware?

Basically, I am just trying to back up games and play custom songs on GH2.

    Thanks!

    the top 3 are:
    Crystal Chip V2.0
    Matrix Infinity Green Dot
    DMS4 Pro
it really depends on how far you want to take modding or what you do as to which chip is best for you.

2.Will I have to do any other work to the console after I get it?
Depends on where you buy it. The most you would have to do is flash the chip which is pretty simple as you download a firmware, burn it to a CD and stick it into the PS2

3.Anything else I should be aware?
Do your research, know what you want and what each chip can do, then make your choice. Do not just jump right in and buy one without doing your homework or you could be sorry later.
Also Teammodders.com is a good place to buy premodded consoles. Personally a used V7 is your best bet as it is a solid model, strong laser, and you can easily add an internal hard drive with just the PS2 network adapter needed.
