i own a lexmark X75 all in one printer-- well it used to print kinda fast at first but now its really slow i mean extremly slower then b4 is there any thing i can do to fix this problem??
Checj the com ports settings. If it's USB then make sure you have it set in bios to work at high speed 480mps. If it's serial then make sure the speed is set to the max the printer will handle.
BigDK, they haven't made serial printers in years. that printer is usb. bpanther, do you have usb2 on your computer as it sounds like it is now running on usb1 which is a lot slower than usb2?
I wasn't going to start looking up the spec, I was covering all options. Just like the one you helpfully repeated for me
my ink carts are brand new and well i have my printer usb plugged in the back in the top left hand side usb port "(facing)" the ports--how do u get to the bois setting for the printer in mps's?????
says its in usb001 virtual printer port for usb--could not tell in device manager bu thats what it said in properties when i went to printer in control panel
i have XP and yes i guess ill try other usb ports but what about the startup bios can i speed up there what about lexmark x75 all in one driver updates is there any of those or um udated programs for it? or maybe soething to do witht he printer its self if not ill try any thing else i got from b4 replies
can check in bios to see if usb speed can be adjusted but not all boards have that option so don't know if will on yours. link to driver for xp but don't know if newer or not to yours presently. http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:204&fileID=566

I might have a few things to try. I have had the same problem with this Lexmark printer, Says it is compatible with XP, my a** it is!!! I have the X75 working, finally. Under device manager check and see if under the USB controller you have Sis USB. If not, go to www.usbman.com and download the XP drivers for it. That made a big difference. The other thing to check is under printer properties>advanced>print processor> make sure the print default data type is set to RAW. Since correcting these two things the printer has been behaving itself in general. Still have the occasional glitch but nothing like the hang and can't delete problems we used to have. Hope this helps - I know have frustrating that stupid printer is! ripped from xperts xchange
