I assume your Tools/NAT Firewall Test has come back OK.

You should run a Speed Test and then use the Azureus Upload Settings Calculator to set your Azureus options to their optimal.
This is basically what is set forth at the wiki on Good Settings
You will need to be in Tools>Options>Mode = Advanced.

just done it now and it said

    "testing port 30750
nat error - connect attempt ***.**.***.***:*****(your computer) timed out after 20 seconds.this means your port is probably closed."

i didn't try any of the other test that you suggested because i said i would clear up this prob first.

    thanks for your help

It would make sense to clear that up first.
As long as you are at it, it would be better to choose a port in the 49152-65534 range. Port is Blacklisted.

The port being closed is generally due to a software firewall and/or router issue.
There are some software guides at Portforward.com Firewalls.
If you have a router, portforward has very good Azureus specific guides for most routers. Portforward.com Azureus & Routers
