    Hi,

I've downloaded a movie called [M-F&K-M]My Wife is a Gangster 2(xvid1)[9A436CC0]. AVICodec gives the following info about it:

    File : 696 MB (696 MB), duration: 1:43:21, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 46 %
    Video : 603 MB, 816 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 544*304 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
    Audio : 92 MB, 125 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

I can watch this in media player, but I want to convert it into an mpeg so that I can burn it to a VCD.
I've tried using virtual dub to split the WAV file. But when I try to convert in TMPGEnc, the picture disappears and I just get a black screen. The sound still works though.

I've downloaded the latest XviD-1.0-RC2-07022004 codec but I'm still getting the problem and not sure how to fix it. Can anyone help me out please?

    Thanks,

    Jenny.

Have you tried increasing the VFAPI priority for Directshow/DirectDraw in the Environmental settings?

You could also try using the "FourCC Changer" that is usually included with the XviD install. You can load your file and change both boxes to DIVX. This usually works for me when TMPGEnc won't accept an XviD file.
