    Well if your drives arent recognizing the disc,theres not alot you can do,that I know.

    You could try downloading a trial version of ulead dvd movie factory.I use this all the time,I record dvdrw's on my standalone recorder in the vr mode,so I can delete out comercial etc,then transfer it on a dvdr in the video mode.

    Its not css encryption,its a dvd made on a standalone recorder, in the vr mode.

    hey venomX05
    I dont think jp3724 was asking for help,He suggested using xcopy to solve this problem,and I dont think it will.

    @Tallguy69,try Rotary's suggestions.

    I don't understand what your talkin about.
    I don't copy dvds thru a dvd-vr. I have a stand alone external device that I use.. I use dvd xcopy and along with at times anydvd, but now I've found another source! www.dvd-copy.us it does what anydvd does too..haven't had any problems using this software that can be downloaded for a 14 day trial
    check it out.
    trying to be helpful here..

    jayp3724,I guess you didnt read any of this thread?

    Tallguy69,has a dvd disc that was made on a dvd recorder...not a dvd burner, or a dvd writter....a dvd recorder. It looks like a dvd player, but it records on blank dvd's.You can make dvd's in 2 different modes,dvd video, or dvd vr.The dvd video mode, is immediately playable in most dvd players,but has no editing features.The dvd vr,has many editing features, but wont play in most dvd players.So a dvd vr has to be either just played in players supporting dvd vr(which most dont support) or it has to be redone in the video mode.

    ok new revelation, i go into nero smartstart and do copy dvd. When i do disc info it says the book time is DVD-R. And it has the data tracks there- but it says session is open so i guess it wasnt finalized, so i try and close vr disc but it says problem with recorder at around 11 percent

    You have to close the session on your stand alone DVD recorder. You can't close it with Nero..

    Well since you cant close the disc, theres not alot you can do with it.Sounds like you might have a bad disc.
    Did you try Rotary's suggestions?At this point I dont think you have much to lose.

    Worth a shot.. :)

    I record all my stuff off the stand alone DVD recorder in Video mode so as to not run into problems like this. :)

    I use VR at first so that I can edit out comercials and junk. Then I write it in Video mode and finalize it so it is more compatable with my computer :) Mine has a fit sometimes with the VR mode disk's..
