I just had it installed professionally...
the chip says that it boots PAL + NTSC discs,

HOWEVER, PAL games does NOT work...
    it's just black and white.

anyone knows why's that? is it because the mod chip guy installed a fake Magic kx?

    thx.

the ps2 is booting your pal game, but you tv is not pal. That's why you see a rolling b&w screen. The Magic KX SLIM does not convert the video from pal to ntsc like other chips or chips for xbox. So the Magic KX SLIM boots the games but does not convert video, so you need a pal to ntsc converter (around $30-$40) or a tv compatible with pal signal.
    Good Luck

You may also want to check and see if anyone makes a flash upgrade (bios or OS) for that chip.
I know my DMS4 Pro has them, and they will add special features to your chip like PAL & NTSC video conversion.
If not then as mentioned above the converter for your TV would be just fine.
