Problem with mp3 extraction in EAC?

I just upgraded my version of EAC from beta1 to beta4, and now I can no longer extract mp3's. Even using the "Compress WAVs..." command under "Tools" does not generate an mp3 file.

I'm using LAME, and I've copied the .exe & .dll into the EAC folder as per the FAQ.

Is there something else I'm missing? Or did this capability get broken?

    Any help is appreciated.

Ah heck, it was something I was missing.

Still had "external compression" enabled. All seems to be working fine now.

(This is what I get when trying to do complicated computer-stuff after spending a day working on the car. Ugh. <grin>)

    Thanks,
    Jim

I'm having the same problem, no matter what I do I can't get it to generate .mp3 files. But I don't quite understand what you did in your solution. I've tried turning off and on the external compression checkbox. When its off, I have no choice but .wav files. When its on, it will say its going to make an .mp3 for me, but then doesn't. Any thoughts about what I did wrong?
