Trying to backup Shrek (the first one) and having a problem:

When I open shrink and it starts to analyse it spends about the first 8% on the same couple of frames; (the dragon flying though the clouds. In the preview it appears to just going back and forth. It finally gets out of this 'loop' and analyses the rest of the film. When it comes to encoding however it gets to about 3% and this:

DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Programming error – exception occurred

First time I’ve seen it. Any suggestions?

Are you trying a full backup or main movie only. If doing a full backup, check for Unreferenced Material folder and insert still image in unecessary items. I backed this movie up a LONG time ago, but I only backed up the main movie. There might be some encryption that DVD Shrink can't get through.

I had this exact same issue when I tried to back-up this movie.
So in the end I just backed-up the main title and it works fine.

The problem was in the unreferenced material section, replaced this with still image and movie works fine. cheers all.
