Problems joining 2 AVI files

    Hi i have problems joining I,Robot AVI files
    just recently got a dvd rewriter and started to convert and burn files but i came across this problem yday as i am trying to join the 2 AVI files CD1 and CD2 with Easy Video Joiner.This is the message that comes up:

    -2 Something wrong while joining, the task is aborted!

    They both have AC3 audio. I have extracted audio from both files using VirtualDubMod but still when i play the avi files the audio is still there, as a result i cant join the 2 files. Plz guys, any help is very much appreciated.
