    Hi,

I have a rather uncommon problem I think.

I use a HP DVD200i burner (newest firmware 1.65 I think) and I can't play any backups burned with this burner.

It's not the media since we tried the same media in another burner and it's not my PS2 either since we tried all the games burned by me in other PS2 and they don't work there either.

I can read the discs under Windows without any problems. We even did a 1:1 copy from my "defect" disc with another burner and then it worked.

I tried using different firmware versions, different media, different software (Record Now Max 4.6, Nero 6.x, Alcohol 120%) but the results is always the same.

So it has something to do with the burner.

Oh and all the PS2 I tried it on were either v9 or v10 with Sniper2 Chip...

I'm glad for any suggestions you guys might have

this burner can only handle +R(W) media.

But like I said, the same media with the same games just burned in another PC with the same software works on the PS2. Oh and DVD Movies on this media works in the PS2 too.

So it really can't be a media issue.

Oh yes I had this problem with this burner, but like I can said I can read the media in my normal DVD-Rom without problems and Xbox Games and Movies and Data Discs work flawless. Just the PS2 don't like them.
I always get the red screen saying to input a PS2 format disc.

Really funny. Guess I need a new burner now

I have the same problem i think that the games should be burned at 1x but i dont think that it will burn at that speed. I made to back ups that work flawless and two others that boot very slowly and then freeze at random spots if anyone has any ideas please let us know. I also have a nec nd-1100a burner if anyone has used this one to back up ps2 games please let me know how it worked. I use nero 5.5 and ps2 has flip top v4. Thanks for your time.

my friend got a NEC too, I think it's the 1300 or so. It burns up to 4x. Well when he burns the backups on the same media as I do with 2,4x (like I do) it works.

    you can't burn at 1x with DVD+R
