I am using DVD Xcopy Platinum. Ripper version.
My burner is Memorex DVD RW.

I have tried using the Sony DVD+R discs. They play in the computer, but not right away like my originals. And it won't play in my DVD player. I have tried 3 movies, and all are the same.

Also when I play the DVD I made, the player is making an odd sound and just doesn't even detect the disc as a DVD at all...

    Any thoughts?

Hi there patriciah, Welcome to aD,

Well the media you're using is fine, stick with Sony - However, you might want to try a -R media. Older DVD players liked minus media more than plus media. As a matter of fact, many older players wouldn't play +R discs at all. My suggestion then is to try a Sony -R disc, as they say, it can't hurt to try :)

I understand the disc not playing BUT it is just a disc and all it does is spin - as for the noise - Could your player need repair ?

Try the -R media and let us know how you make out -

    Cheers,

    Pete
