I currently have a Dell 8200, 40 GB. 1.4 GHz; Sony DRX-510UL External Burner; and Sony DVP-NS715P DVD Player.

I used DVD XCopy to backup a dvd, using Memorex +R. The burn was successful. However, my dvd player will not recognize the dvdr. I am able to watch the movie in my dvd burner though. I have read threads where others have played these dvdrs on this player. Any thoughts?

I don't have an answer, but I am having the same problem. I have a NEC 1100A burner and can watch the movie I backup on my computer but not on my Sony 715 or 755 player. BTW, I have been succesfu in backing up and watching on the Sonys two movies.

What type of media were you able to watch on your Sony 715?

I burned The Bridge on the River Kwai onto a Memorex DVD+R. I assume it's 2.4x and it looks great and works in the home players. Then I was sucessful burning Harry Potter 2 onto the same media. I then started getting "fatal Driver Error. Lower bytes of 'scsierror' givedriver error code" messages. So I installed Nero and started using it to burn. Although it would not recognize the Maxell +RW discs, it would burn sucessfully using DVD+R discs. They play fine on the computer but won't work at all on the Sony 715 or 755. I switched back to the Gear burn engine and it will work with the DVD+RW, but the Sony's still won't read them.
