    Hello

I have successfully ripped many English DVDs to VCDs using DVD Decrypter, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. However, when I try to rip a Hindi movie, I do not get any audio in the final mpg file although the video is perfect. The interesting point, however, is that the wav file that I got from the DVD2AVI is perfect.

The following is the info about the audio in the .txt file

    0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / LBA: 52 / PTS: 00:00:00.223 / Delay: -66ms

If I play the .vob file and check the audio track number , it is 1 and I am using the same in DVD2AVI. Howver, I did try with 2 and 3 as well.

CAn anyone help me out with this problem??

    Thank you

    hi

i am just getting into this but could it be

the 6CH thing? may need to be 2CH or 5CH or the DRC? what is that?

and i have done both 48 and 44khz to! have you tried them? for audio?

    Thank you Rotary

But it did not work. DRC is Dynamic Rabge Control which is usually set to Normal. I don't think that the problem is with 6ch as well because I have have been successful with that for other English DVds. I feel the problem lies with TMPGEnc. because as I already told, the wav file obtained from DVD2AVI is perfect.

    Any other suggestions??

    Hi!!!

I am using 1.77.3 version of DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc. Plus 2.5. Let me tell you the settings that I have done in DVD2AVI:

    Track Number 1
    Output Method Decode to wav
    Dolby Digital Decode
    Dynamic Range Control Normal
    Dolby Surrpund Downmix
    48->44.1 KHz High.

In TmPG Enc. Plus, I have loaded the files and and used the NTSC format.

    Hello Roatry

Thank you very much for your help. I have figured it out with your help. All the settings that I have done were right except that converting to 48->44.1. I turned it off and it worked out fine.

Sorry to have truobled you. I should have permuted myself. But came to know some more stuff today.

    Thank you

    Sorry dude!!!

I have not tried it on the standalone yet. I just have a computer and watch all the movies in it. And it works out fine for me. And trust me, I am an still an amateur in the ripping business. Just started a week ago.

Hope that you are keeping the aspect ratio the same. Also, for the same aspect ratio, there are 2 options for NTSC in TMPG. Try both of them.

It is just a blind suggestion.

And thank you for your time.

    Bye
