I did a search, and found a lot of people talk about using the PS1 Gameshark Lite as a boot-disc for PS1 games (which I've done for quite a while). The problem is... while it always worked on my old fat PS2, it doesn't work at all on my silver v15 console. A few more details... The Gameshark Lite starts to boot, getting as far as the screen where it says an FMV is coming up. After that, it *should* show the FMV with the shark. But instead, the screen stays black, and after about 10 seconds, it plays an audio track instead (it's an advertisement for the Gameshark, listing all the features and all that crap). I have tried every combination of PS1/PS2 memory cards inserted/not inserted, USB drive inserted or not (shouldn't matter, but I tried anyway), disc reading speed, and even inserted controllers. Nothing will get this damn thing to boot. But it most definitely works on my old PS2. And I *thought* I got it to boot once when I first got the v15 PS2, but more and more I feel like I'm just imagining that. It's not so much that I feel there *must* be a way to get it to boot, but... is this something that is a known problem with the PS1 Gameshark Lite? And if so, is it simply a matter of it not being compatible on newer PS2 units, or possibly an effort by Sony to block use of Gameshark devices as usual (I noticed some PS2 Gamesharks don't work on newer PS2 units, but saw nothing about the PS1 Gameshark Lite)?
