I am sure you have seen this a million times but...
    - I am using a Pioneer AO5U
    - Primmo Prassi
    - PS2 Version 1 with a Magic 2 modchip
    - Tried Verbatim DVD+r, DVD-R, HP media
All with no luck, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried using Alcohol 120% or good old Nero Burning Rom. Also, its best to copy DVD games on WinXP Pro. What OS are you running?

I am using Win2000 Pro. Is there any way to check to make sure my mod chip is installed correctly? Becasue I have tried burning CD's with no luck.

It's probably a bad install, who did it? What kind of chip? If you want to give up I'll buy your burner hehe.

I have a Magic 2 modchip...and I have not given up yet. Is there any truth to me needing a laser adjustment? Or my PS2 version 1 not being able to read cd-r or dvd-r disks?

Magic 2 mod and you can't boot anything at all. More than likely a bad install!

It's obvious he did it himself i mean if a pro did it he'd hardly send it back to him broken, he'd test it first.

I didn't do the install myself. A pro did it. Is there any way I can test it to make sure it works? Or should I just take it back to him?

Take it to the person who did the mod. Things happen to PS2s. Maybe something came loose in shipping or something else broke.

Are you holding the reset button for 2-4 seconds when you turn the ps2 on? I heard that is how the chip is "activated" after it is installed.

See Dela, my magical super powers told me that he didn't do the install by himself, but he let a "pro" do it. If a "pro" did it, wires would not come loose in shipping, it's a crappy install. Let us know if he fixes it for you, and is he local? If not, please tell us his site so others can stay clear of him.
