I have a version 7 PS2 and a no solder modchip with swap magic discs. All of a sudden the disc drive wouldn't open up when I hit the eject button. I checked the ribbon cables inside, and all were connected properly. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.

Is there any lights on when you turn the power on?

sounds like a fuse.maybe you sould get a fliptop(or replace fuse if your handy with that type of thing)try loosen top of cd tray and swapin thru top to see if a fliptop would be wroth it to you.

i know what it is it just happend to me- it opens like partway and doesnt close all the way either right?

turn it of and than push firmly (dont shove it!) in and it will click in- than turn it on and open and close it sever times to get it back on track.

If all the cables are attached correctly and not damaged then the only thing I can think of being the possible problem is a defective (broken) drive. Or check to see if the tray is still attached to the arm of the motor for opening the tray.

other then that I have no idea what might be wrong.
