What's the best program to backup PS2 DVD games that bypasses all that protection crap?

(I use alcohol 120%, but now I found out that you can't use it with those protected games).

    Can anyone help?

    Thx.

i would say the most popular backup programs are nero, dvd decryptor and record now max with any of those programs you should be able to backup most ps2 games without many problems.

I have a dvd burner what I want ot know is if you can burn ps2 games which are of dvd format without compressing/shrinking them. I say this because blank dvd-r's are 4.7G where as most of my ps2 dvd games range between 6G-8G. So what I want to know is if Nero will copy a 6gig or 8gig game onto a 4.7gig blank? if not what will?
I'd appreciate any help I can get,
    thanks

    6-8 Gigs for a PS2 game?

Something is up there, cause I've come across only 1 game that was like 4.8G

Can you give us some names here, we are very curious what games you are talking about.

You guys are absolutely right, I just got a dvd-ram drive and my friends kept telling me that ps2 games were too big to burn approx. 6-8gig. I foolishly took there word for it. I just installed my dvd-ram (Lg multi-drive) today and saw your messages so I popped in a ps2 game, gran turismo 3 it's only 3gigs my friend told me it was 6gigs. Thank you very much for clearing things up because I was starting to get discouraged.

There are a few titles that are DVD-9 (I think MGS Substance, some type of RPG game and a couple others).

Does Your ps2 need to be chipped to play backedup ps2 games.?
If so is there anyway around chipping them.

The best way to play backups is to chip your PS2, but there are swap methods available.

The swap methods are unreliable and a pain in the butt, but a lot of people do it.

Try some searches within this forum, and you'll find what is right for you.

    Cheers!
