ps2 game enhancer?

    Will there ever be a product on the playstation 2 that you can plug in the 1 of the usb sockets that requires no soldering and no modification to the machine to alow you to play backup ps2 games just like the game enhancer on the playstation 1?

    No, becuase a usb port only has 3 (99% positive) wires

    power

    ground

    data

    Which still means you would have to solder anyway to get the info/data from the mod to somewhere on the board not to mention the bigger problem of the PS2 need much more info/data to boot all types of backups.

    Basically not enough hardware in the USB port to get it to work. As for the firewire, I don't know. And never really heard any one try anything with it. Probably because of the same reason.

    What about something through the hardrive/network adaptor slot at the back?
