PS2 red led on but no turn on

    hey guys... i've been looking ALL over for help and i found this forum....

    i opened my ps2 yesterday (something i do atleast every third month to clean out) i cleaned it, put it back together, but now it wont boot...
    the red LED comesont, but if i press the reset or eject button nothing happens... i checked the small silver ribbon with a multimeter and it check out good.... anyone?? please?

    Sounds like the cable has came loose

    i pulled it out and cleaned it and the contacts (compressed air) and checked it with a multimeter....it checked out good
    but nothing..... i dont understand..... it's in "sleep" but that's all it does..... could it have anything to do with the dvd drive?? i know that i cleaned that too.....

    I having the exact same issue. I'm removing my chip one wire at a time and still nothing.

    If you get your's to work, please let me know.

    the reset and eject cable is loose

    open it again and check the cable that is connected with the top of your case to the bottom

    it should be connected to the LEDs

    that wire is probably loose

    try pushing it in more into the bottom part of the ps2 and then try pushing it into the top part of the ps2 (the part where the buttons for ejecting and resetting are)
