It seems kind of odd that it happened all of a sudden. Prior to today, last time I had tried playing a CD-based PS2 game was quite a few months ago, and it worked fine. For some reason my PS2 is not wanting to read CD-based discs anymore. This includes PSX games. A while ago I was wanting to load my Swap Magic CD version, so I popped it in my PS2, and it doesn't want to work. I use a fliptop for my backups, so when the top was open, I can see that the disc keeps spinning, then stopping, spinning, then stopping, in approximately 1 second intervals. Then, after a few times, it goes to the menu, and just says "Disc Read Error". My DVD version of Swap Magic works fine, as well as all my DVD backups. It's just CDs that don't work, as well as PSX (cd obviously) games. Any one have an idea of why this is happening? I rarely ever played CD -based games.... I have 2 copies of the CD version of Swap Magic -- one that is well used, and the other practically brand new and never used. Both great condition but neither works.
