your probably going to need to use -r and -r only. no +r and no rw.

I have a version 4 ps2. I have used Memorex and Ridata DVDs for backing up movies and games. I use DVD decrypter for games. I used to use DVDXCOPY, but now I use DVDShrink. I use DVD+Rs for burning. In general cheaper media will probably work, but RIDATA/RITEK DVDs/cds will last much longer because of the way they are made. The game/,movie will not be affected by small scratches on the disk. You can find these DVDs at www.newegg.com for cheap. Hope this helps.
