I have a phat PS2 that's been plagued by disc errors. The laser is gone, completely and I've messed up the disc tray somehow messing with it. I've got a network adapter for it and wondering if it's possible at all to get some stuff to load off the HDD.

I have a slimline PS2 with SM3.6 also to work with. No crossover cable though and no USB housing for the HDD...

Is it possible I could use the slim PS2 and SwapMagic to load some kind of memory card hack that will allow the phat PS2 to boot stuff from the HDD when I power it up? Thanks for any help.
