    what kind of mod chip do you guys reccomend for ps2

    If anyone is going to help you they are going to need more information. What version PS2 do you have? Can you solder. Do you want to solder?

    I have the new thin ps2 flip top and yes I can solder but I would rather not if it's possible.

    Then I would recommend getting the Swap Magic 3.3 disks. They are easy to use. I recently bought them and I am completely satisfied.

    You may need to do something to your PS2 to get them to work. I think you need to tape over two sensors, but I'm not sure because I don't have the new slim PS2.

    Do a search in the PS2 Hardware forum, or any PS2 backup forum about the new slim PS2 (I've come across this topic a dozen times) and I'm sure you'll find out what you need to know to get the Swap Magic disks to work on your system.
