    Hi,

I'm having a big problem. My ps3 when I start after an hour of break it gives red blinking light problem. With 2 to 3 try it's boot again into xmb and began working. Sometimes at second try after going into xmb it also shut downs but third or fourth try, it works.

After that I can play games or watch movies, no problem but when I close the system and restart it in maybe after 10 minuts, ps3 still boots and run but if I turn it off for longer time, I get the same problem of ylod kind of thing one and two or three tries and ps3 runs again.

Also, when I play demo on Ps3 from PSN system from my hdd, ps3 also shuts down after sometimes, but works while playing movies or blue ray game.

I know I can't be overheating, maybe some hardware failure at boot which stops functioning being idle for sometime. Can it be hdd? I mean can bad hdd result in crashing the ps3 and red blinking lights.

Also this thing happens when green light of Hdd began blinking from yellow to green. System is fat 80gb non backward compatible NTSC-J Asian. My other guess is GPU.

Note that system is not cleaned for a while and do it needs a thermal greasing.

Just remove the harddrive and check if it boots first try atleast to the point where it checks for the harddrive.

Nope, same thing guess it's not hdd. One thing I took it from someone else and when I took the hdd out, it was so dusty.

Could the dust inside the ps3 causing that.

Well, it's an old fat console from 2008, no warranty remains and infect there is no warranty even for the new super slim in my country.
