i was thinking that overheating would be a huge issue (does sony ever get the idea that heat is BAD?) due to there being no fan. to kind of help with this, i have put two bocks of wood on both sides of the console so that the bottom is open to air. to kind of help with the heat issue. not sure how much it actually helps, but it can't hurt.

it wouldn't hurt to mabey give the PS2 a rest once in a while.
Also why not put just a normal sized fan next to the PS2? What ever little the fan does it would help.

ya, any kind of air circulation around ANY electronic device is good. at least that's what my old man has always told me. i have noticed the under side and the side to the disc lid get quite hot.
always remember, heat is an electronic device's enemy. always!

would heat be contributing to the lazer screwing when using burnt media?
