PVR in realtime?

    Currently, I play Xbox through a standard, composite capture card on my PC through VirtualDub, and there is no (noticable) input lag to me. I plan on buying a Happauge HDPVR next month, and my question is would it be suitable to play multiplayer games in realtime? Or does the PVR add any input lag? Thanks.
