I was given a Q6600 quad so after giving thr guy his arm back I put it in my machine
    motherboard is an EVGA 680i
    four gigs ram
    8800gtx graphics
this machine works great with the core duo 6600 but with the quad in the darn things plays up
number keys change what they are supposed to do
mouse keeps jumping to the top of the screen
    nothing big just small annoyances
put it in a asus board and it workeed fine even loaded a game on to be sure :)
put it back in here and it plays around again :)

    anyone have any ideas ?

Ccheck on the mfg website to see if there are any issues with the bios running that quad core. A lot of the c2d boards out are capable of running quads but need a bios update before they will work properly.
