I have an old, fat PS2 SCPH-30001. Finally, after all these years, long story short, I decided to start looking for a laser replacement for it before it dies out since it has finally begun to show its age just now right this moment, and, very rarely on occasions, now starts to load a few random scenes slowly that have become quite noticeable. So I ask this: where can I purchase a new laser (personal recommendations where would be nice), how much the cost is expected to be (I'm guessing 40~80 perhaps?), a tutorial on how to do my own installation, and where can I check for reference on which laser is correct for my particular PS2 specifically?

~ Thanks, appreciate the help in advance.

search for "PS2 parts" and "PS2 Repair"
you can find a lot of sites that sell or even install them.
Plus you can read guides that will tell you exactly which version you need.

Thanks. Was using the wrong terminology to search for them.
