Hey, all, I was wondering if DVD+RW game backups would play on a version 7 ps2 using the swap trick-I know all the modchips claim to play DVD-R, but none ever mentioned +RW...does anyone have any information? I'm considering investing in a DVD+/- R/RW writer, but I thought I'd check here first. If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance...bye!

Can you or anyone else name a good source for RW media? I have tried numerous different game backups using Memorex DVD+RW and all of them give me a black-border freeze on the Swap Magic "insert disk" screen/prompt. Is there anyone getting 100% good burn using DVD-RWs? Thank ya, Thank ya, Thank ya, in advance, to all that reply. And uh, happy holidays to all regardless.

I have a V7 PS2. I tried a DVD+R to back up a game, with no success. Burnt the same image to a DVD-R, which worked fine. So unless there is some special way to burn them, DVD+R don't work on ALL V7 (for PS2 games).
Saying that DVD+R worked fine for movies.
    I don't know if it's the same for DVD+RW, as I haven't got a DVD+RW disc to try YET!

i got me v7 and i could tell that -RW or +RW dosent work in here and i got me a chip : btw games that come as originals come on a DVD-ROM wich is - so naturaly - should work the best with ps2 rather than +

Ok but what about a ver. 8, 9, or 10? Does anyone know if +RW/-RW discs work with those versions?

And while we are speaking or versions....which version PS2 is the best as far as having little to no problems is concerned? I wanna get a Ps2 chipped but i wanna make sure that i can play virtually anything on it with no problems.

Version 9 and 10 PS2's are specifically designed to read all +/-R(W) media. It even says so on the box.

Is it possible to burn games using a chip from another ps2? I was wondering, if you can, any idea what chip it is you need from the system? And any other info?
