Hey, I have a quick question about PS3 and installing Linux.

I have a the high end model of the PS3 and I have thought about installing Linux on it, especially after they were talking about getting a Snes emu to run on it.

I can easily get a USB thumb drive, key board, mouse and DVDs to burn stuff on to disks with...

But I read somewhere that unless you have a high end TV which supports a very specific res. mode, that you can't use the graphical end of Linux.

Is this true? Or is it simply for the installation?

I am no Linux expert and if I can only use the text entry command prompt mode in Linux on my PS3, it simply won't be something I'd like to try my hand at.

Could someone clear this up for me? Because I'd like to know.

There's Fedora Core 5 and then there's Yellow Dog Linux. The way I understand it is that Yellow Dog Linux needs HD (not sure if its just for the installation. Fedora Core 5 however, doesn't need HD i think.
Thats just the way I understand it. I may be wrong.
