Question about the wiikey and the 3 missing legs

    I installed my wiikey and I had to use the grind method. I soldered the wires from the wiikey directly to the chip I had to grind down. I did not connect the 3 clipped pins to the board. Will that cause it not to work?

    No. As long as you connected the wires correctly on the IC it should work.

    I unsoldered it and resoldered it. I can still play regular discs but I get a disk read error when I put a burned disc in. I am going to try a gcos disc and see if it will work. I went to divineo.com and I cant find any wiikeys for sale. I think mines a clone. Where can I get one that is legit for sure and not sold from within the US?

    NOT sold within the US? I know a guy who can mod your Wii along with an official Wiikey but he's located here in the US.

    What media and burn speed are you using for your backups?
