    Yes it should - looks like it will fit in a standard bay which also looks like the Dell has.

    When you install it set the jumper pin on the back to cable select. Dell's preference.
    New drives usually come set as slave.

    Take a look at the 18x speed LiteOn's instead - cheaper and better drives than HP. Here's one for 32.99 w/ free shipping:
