A friend of mine called me to her computer was infected with this virus. she had Norton anti virus but it was the 2005 edition. I ran a virus scan with what she had and it found 3 viruses. The files were "dcsm.exe", "Spylocked 4.3" and the other has slipped my mind at the moment. Norton got rid of that one but the other two it couldn't.

I noticed in her system tray there was a an icon flashing on and off and when clicked it immediately opened Internet Explorer and redirected to a page about spyware. there was also a pop-up box saying she was infected with W32.Myzor@yf and should click yes to download software to remove iYes was never checked. I did all that I could with my very limited knowledge with computers but couldn't get rid of the thing. She went out and purchased Norton 360 hoping this would solve the problem. Below is what happened and is the basis for my questions:

Once installed Norton ran a complete scan of her computer and found nothing. The next day pop-ups reappeared and Norton was ran again and found 4 viruses. She didn't name what they were but one was supposedly a trojan virus. The blinking icon in her system tray was still present. Next day Norton was ran again and now the icon is gone. My questions are do you think Norton took care of the virus or is it embedded somewhere where it can't find it? Also, is there a tool to download and run to see if she is indeed still infected with the virus? Thanks in advance for answering and for also being patient in my long-winded question

Please download HijackThis from the link provided, but don't download the beta - click to download the last stable version, which is v1.99.1. Do a scan and save a logfile. Please copy and paste the contents of that log into your reply.
