I would greatly appreciate the views of forum members on the following.
Is there a cheaper alternative to the Dreambox 500T for M**S reception?
Are the other boxes as well supported on software downloads?
I’m also confused by cable and aerial MMDS ,will somebody please explain?
And if possible suggest a few receivers suitable for aerial received MMDS.
I wish to set up a system that functions well and is not too complex.

    Thanks

It depends on if it is C****s or n*l mmds.
If it is c*****s then a starview box will not work but it will work with n*l mmds.
If you have n*l then I would suggest a starview2 'The Box' as it is not too complex and the lads on here are exceptionally knowledgable about 'The Box' and will be able to sort out pretty much any problem which you may have.

The difference between cable and mmds is that the siganl received from mmds comes from a little antenna on your roof whereas cable is underground and connects directly to your house.

    As I said I have n*l mmds and I am using a starview 2.

Whereabouts in the country are you ?

Only a DVB-T type box will work with Ch**** MMDS and so the Dreambox with a T type tuner is OK although if you are not that knowledgeable in regards to setting it up you may find it a bit difficult, although with a bit of reading here you will find all you need.

There is a Starview box in development at the moment that is been designed specifically for this provider and system, although I cannot give you a definite time as to when it will be released on the market, obviously this would be much easier than the Dreambox to set up.

    Thanks for that scOuser.
I see that there are other T type boxes available, would any one of these do the same job?
Also,do these boxes need to be conax compatible?.
