    hi all i recently purchased a epson r300 and as i have sp2 my prints were very dark so i installed the new driver but my icon on the bottom right tray dissappeared does any1 know how to get it back so i can check my ink levels etc.

    Do you have XP? if so check out device manager. thats all i can think of..

    Normally with Epsons you have to install the other utility - Epson status monitor.

    I know thsi true for earlier models but not sure on yours.
    Worth 'exploring' the driver disc to see if there is such a utility.

    I had a major snag with the supplied drivers. Try this (it worked for me). Go to the Epson site, download the latest driver (epson21540eu) and during installation, when asked for printer type select R310. Then get and install the System Status Monitor Update (epson19773eu.exe) and again, when unzipped install it from wherever it unzipped to and select the R310. You should now have the icon back where it belongs and all the features available.
