Hi-recently tried to set up r4 but my computer is not reading the microsd card in the usb. How do I have windows double-check the usb ports?

    Thanks.

?? ive included the brands for everything I have
what is a "dongle"? it connects directly
it reads fine on another computer, my usb within my comp. (the brand is the same as the computer, its a powerspec) doesnt detect it, im just asking how, within windows, I manually force the usb port to check whats in it

    Dongle.
I was asking what brand name the MicroSD reader, which is the dongle, was. Now that I know that it works on another comp. that information is no longer required. :p
I'm not sure how to help you other than to try another USB port or to get another reader...

so, I've just decided to avoid using my existing computer for the setup/install...but I have a new question...
putting the extra-small kingston card (the little detachable one) into the microsd (right...?), and the microsd into the computer, I'm unable to save any of the files from the r4 install cd into the sd card...it says "Please insert a disk into the removable drive." So im guessing I need to configure either my kingston card or the microsd card. How do I do this?

    Thanks.

The "Little detachable one" is the MicroSD card, the big one is an adapter so that the MicroSD card can be read as an SD.
Right click the SD card icon in My Computer and go to "Format...", the settings don't matter as long as you don't check anything, though I'd recommend keeping it at FAT32.
And don't bother with the mini-cd, the new firmware is Here.

I'm asking what device you need batteries for.
    For the DS, try here
