I would like to record a Real Audio stream from a .ram link on a website and save it to an MP3 file. Does anyone know what software can do this? Any help is appreciated.

i'm new to this too man but there a program called streambox that will save to your harddrive the audio stream. You then need something called streamripper.

have a look at the two links above. The top ones for downloadin the software and the next gives you some kind of intructions. Don't know where you based but i can't get it to record the streams from the BBC.

Anyway, good luck - let me know how you get on

    StreamBox VCR Suite 2.0 (Free).
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_capture_tools/streambox_vcr_suite.cfm
This suite contains versions of StreamBox VCR to download most Real Media streams and many Windows Media streams. It also contains StreamBox Ripper which can convert most Real Media files(.ra .rm)to MP3 WAV or WMA.

StreamBox Ripper (Free). Part of StreamBox VCR Suite 2.0.
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_capture_tools/streambox_vcr_suite.cfm
This is a free converter and is very fast. It will work with all versions of RealPlayer up to RealOne. If you want to use it with RealPlayer 10, you need to copy and rename some codec .dll files as shown here.
RealPlayer 10 - StreamBox Ripper codec problem and solution.

It will not work with Real Audio files that use the Real Audio 10 codec.

Mini-stream Ripper or Mini-stream RM-MP3 Converter. (Pay with Free trial).
    http://www.mini-stream.com/index.htm
Very fast conversion. Does work with Real Audio files that use the Real Audio 10 codec. For only $3 more the Ripper is the better of the two.

dBpowerAMP Music Converter (Free trial and Free versions).
    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

    Current NEW Release 11.
Free trial but you need to buy to continue to use MP3 encoding.
    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r11.exe
    Previous Release 10.
    Completely Free MP3 encoding.
    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r10.exe

    Real Audio codecs needed.
    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ra.htm
    Other available codecs.
    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central.htm
This is a free converter that will work with just about any type of audio if you install that codec. As a Real Audio converter it is slow because it takes as long to convert as it take to play the file (Real Time Conversion).
