according to what you have posted in your log the reason it burns at 4x is because the princo media your using only supports 4x burning

So the reason its not burning at 1x or 2.4x is because of the media.

    I also have some [bold]TDK DVD+R 4.7GB (Up to 4x Compatible)[/bold]

Do you think the TDK will work?

if you stick one of your tdk discs in your writer while you have dvd decrypter in mode>iso>write it will tell you what the supported burn speeds of the disc are with your writer i would think it will show you that they support 2.4x and 4x burning and if you have a reasonably new ps2 then it should work fine with +r media

    Dog Gamn it!

I just bought some Verbatim Digital Movie DVD-R 4.7GB 1x-4x speed for $10.99. The Customer Rep. said it was the same thing as buying the regular ones for $50.00.

It does the same thing. I set the speed to 1x, and it changes to 4x. Why is this doing this?

the verify rate has nothing to do with burn speed, put one of those verbatim discs in your writer with dvd decrypter open in mode>iso>write and have a look on the right hand side of dvd decrypter, it will tell you what the supported write speeds are for your media in your writer
