I have been checking some programs of hex editing and a lot of post but could not find an answer to my question. There goes : I wanted to back up Baldur's gate. It is said to change 12c4 070c to 0000 0000 in offset 0x1044a4. My question is how the hell can you search for this offset if in the search box, you cannot enter the letter "x"?

Anyone please help me out, I've been on this since 2 weeks now.

0X is just a tag that lets you know that the following characters are in Hexadecimal. Don't use them in your search, and make sure your search is for Hexadecimal. Your hex editor can show data in many formats, such as decimal, binary and octal, but you need to use Hex.

    Good luck to you.
